The All-New Dodge Demon 170

Dodge’s event in Las Vegas was to announce their final “Last Call” vehicles. However, we received a brilliant send-off to its’ predecessor and foe of the streets: the Dodge Demon. Dodge announced to the world a final farewell to the beloved Demon name with its release of the Demon 170.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the offspring of the power-hungry engineers over at Dodge. The unmistakable whine from the supercharged V-8 produces 1,025 HP at 6,500 rpm with a ground-rippling 945 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. This means there is an increase of 442 HP and an increase of torque by 228 lb-ft from the 2018 Demon in its’ stock configuration. All specifications are on E-85 fuel.
The Demon 170 is the first-ever eight-second, running the 1/4 mile in an NHRA-certified 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph. This comes from the factory capable of achieving insanity. There are only red keys that come with the car and full power comes from using E-85, using a fuel detection system to determine the power output. The supercharger and engine have been modified with a 105-mm throttle body and a 3.02” pulley.
The reasoning behind the 170 attached to the Demon name stems from the alcohol percentage of E-85; 170 proof. The theme around E-85 is also shown on the Demon emblem on the fenders. It’s represented by the 170 on the neck of the Demon along with the eyes filled with a yellow jewel. Other areas with the 170 and E-85 are represented on the supercharger demon badge and the yellow inlay on the passenger dash.
The Demon 170 will come in an assortment of colors including Triple Nickel, Granite, White Knuckle, Pitch Black, Go Mango, Octane Red, Torred, Sinamon Stick, F8 Green, and Frostbite. In addition to Dodge’s selection of paint, they are bringing back four colors for the 2023 model: Destroyer, Plum Crazy, Sublime, and B5 Blue.
